A native of London, after graduating with honors from the London School of Economics, Mr. Day spent many years as a financial investment writer, where he gained a large following for his expertise in searching out unusual investment opportunities around the world. John Hathaway joined Sprott Asset Management USA, Inc. in January 2020. Mr. Hathaway is a Senior Portfolio Manager of Sprott Hathaway Concentrated M&A Strategy, Co-Portfolio Manager of the Sprott Gold Equity Fund and Portfolio Manager of Sprott Active Gold & Silver Miners ETF (GBUG). Previously, Mr. Hathaway joined Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. in 1997 where he was a Co-Portfolio Manager of the Tocqueville Gold Fund as well as other investment vehicles in the Tocqueville Gold Equity Strategy. He was also the Portfolio Manager of private funds. Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. Hathaway co-founded and managed Hudson Capital Advisors followed by seven years with Oak Hall Advisors as the Chief Investment Officer in 1986. In 1976, he joined the investment advisory firm David J. Greene and Company, where he became a Partner. Mr. Hathaway began his career in 1970 as an Equity Analyst with Spencer Trask & Co.

Mr. Hathaway earned a B.A. from Harvard College and an MBA from the University of Virginia. Mr. Hathaway was also the Chairman of Tocqueville Management Corporation, the General Partner of Tocqueville. He also holds the CFA® designation.

Justin Tolman joined Sprott in 2018 as an Economic Geologist. He specializes in project and company evaluations. Mr. Tolman is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Sprott Gold Equity Fund, Sprott Concentrated M&A Strategy,  Sprott Active Gold & Silver Miners ETF (GBUG) and the Sprott Active Metals and Miners ETF. For the two decades prior to joining Sprott Justin held a series of increasingly senior industry roles with global mining and exploration companies including Newmont, Normandy Mining, New Gold, Exeter Resources and MIM holdings managing programs and leading discovery teams across the globe. Mr. Tolman holds a BSc with 1st Class Honors in Economic Geology from James Cook University, and an MBA from La Trobe University. He is a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists, the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and is a registered Professional Geologist with the APGO.

Alastair Still is an experienced mining industry professional with over 25 years of experience including working for major gold miners such as Newmont, Goldcorp, Placer Dome, Kinross Gold and Agnico Eagle. He has worked within Canada and internationally in a variety of leadership roles including corporate and project development, and mine operations. Mr. Still has spent over ten years in corporate development having formerly served as Director, Corporate Development with Newmont Corporation (formerly Goldcorp), and most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Development Officer for GoldMining. Mr. Still graduated with a Bachelor of Science (First Class, Honours) from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Science (structural geology) from Queen’s University

Tim Smith has more than 25 years mineral industry exploration and mining experience, principally exploring for gold mineral systems including orogenic lode gold, porphyry, intrusion related and volcanogenic massive sulphide systems at locations throughout Australia and Canada. Mr. Smith is experienced in exploration project management from generative greenfields to deposit drill-out to feasibility studies. Mr. Smith has a track record of discovery of major gold systems including as Vice President Exploration for Kaminak Gold Corporation where he led the team at the Coffee Gold Deposit in Yukon, Canada and which was acquired by Goldcorp Inc., for C$520 million in 2016. Mr. Smith was Regional Director Generative Exploration, North America for Newmont Corporation from June 2019 to April 2022 and Exploration Director, Goldcorp Inc., from August 2016 to June 2019.

Mr. Smith is a Registered Professional Geoscientist with Professional Geoscientists Ontario and Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Geology from University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Mr. Smith was a co-recipient of the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia H.H “Spud” Huestis Award for excellence in prospecting and mineral exploration in 2013, for the drill discovery of the Coffee Gold Deposit.

Mr. Goodman served as CEO of Dundee Precious Metals from 1995 to 2013, as Executive Chairman from April 2013 to September 2017, at which time he was appointed Chairman.

Mr. Goodman has over 30 years of experience in the resource and investment industry, working as a geologist, senior analyst, portfolio manager and as CEO of a producing mining company. Mr. Goodman joined Goodman & Company, Investment Counsel Ltd. in 1990, where he was responsible for the selection of Canadian equities and played a major role in developing asset allocation strategies, before becoming the company’s President. He is also one of the founding partners of Goepel Shields and Partners, an investment firm. Mr. Goodman graduated from the Colorado School of Mines as a Professional Engineer, holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.
